New Emergency Surgery with Timed Appointments

As from 4th November, 2019, there will no longer be a walk-in sit-and-wait Emergency Surgery at TMC.

This service has become over-whelmed by the way it is used, making it unsafe and causing very long waits for some very unwell people. In order to improve our urgent access service we will now be running timed Emergency Surgeries, staffed by Emergency Care Practitioners and GP’s. This should mean that waiting times will be reduced and the waiting room will therefore be less congested. You should only book into one of these appointments if your problem is too urgent to wait until the next available pre-bookable appointment.  Please download Leaflet for further information or ask at Reception for one when you next attend.  More information also under Appointments

New Acute Illness Clinic - Please note that, as from 1st July, patients who need to be seen on the day will be seen in the acute illness clinic by an Emergency Clinician for the certain conditions, such as chestiness, UTIs, ear and throat problems, some infections, abdominal and back pain, musculoskeletal issues, headaches, chest pain, joint problems, rashes, eye problems, wounds, dizziness and falls -this list is not exhaustive.   This is an appointment only system so please ensure you telephone before attending the practice. Thank you.

Improving Access

We are working to improve access to appointments for our patients, in particular at evenings and weekends. If you would like to be offered one of these appointments, please ask. These appointments may be at a different site.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We at Talbot Medical Centre have amended our procedures to meet the new regulations. A privacy notice can be found on our practice website under how we use your data. TMC Rated "Good" by CQC

Thanks to everyone who made comments or participated in the CQC visit, which we had on Friday 9th February 2018.  Our overall ratings were good in all areas, i.e. they are safe, effective, caring, responsive to people's needs and well led. See the report here.
